DIOR BACKSTAGE £34
What This five-piece brush set really is all you need for a professional make-up finish.
The look There is a travel Kabuki Brush for face powder and bronzer, a blusher and bronzer brush that can cleverly sculpt cheeks and put the colour exactly where you want on your face. There is also a lip and eyeliner brush and two eyeshadow brushes, one for contouring and another for more precision application. All are finished with chic silver, Dior logo handles.
Verdict Super luxe, super-soft bristles and stylish hardwearing handles show that this set was originally designed for professional use backstage at the Dior catwalk shows. Great value for money for a set of this quality.
ORIGINS PEACE OF MIND £14
What A unique, minty gel to apply to pulse points to calm and soothe your mind.
The look The menthol evaporates from your skin to give a cooling effect when applied to your temples, earlobes, wrists and the back of your neck.
Verdict This instantly cools hot skin, clears your nose, smells refreshing and makes the perfect travel companion.
BENEFIT SOME KIND-A GORGEOUS £16.50
What A very clever and travel-friendly one-shade cream-to-powder foundation.
The look I once spent a day on the counter at Selfridges for charity and was asked to apply readers’ make-up. Trust me I am no make-up artist but this really is foolproof. It looks dark and creamy but magically makes all but the darkest skins look flawless.
Verdict This may look slightly gunky in the compact but it really has to be tried to be believed. When it touches the skin, it turns into a flattering powder that results in this season’s perfect ‘no-make-up make-up’ look.
ESTÉE LAUDER REVELATION £32
What Research shows that uneven skin tone is as much of a tell-tale of your true age as lines and wrinkles, which explains why cosmetics companies such as Estée Lauder are now formulating creams like this to target age spots.
The look This triple whammy has instant face brightening, soft-focus effect particles that give the illusion of clear skin while the three different types of vitamin C work on firming skin and evening out skin tone.
Verdict A rich cream that’s absorbed in seconds and really does give your skin a soft-focus look – worth the money for that alone.
NADINE’S TOP SUMMER TIPS
ON HOLIDAY: Invest in lots of oil-free sun-protection lotion. I also take a lysine supplement to prevent cold sores and, before I go, I have false lashes applied so I can leave my eye make-up at home and swim knowing I look my best.
THE LOOK FOR SUMMER: The tan is back and everyone looks better with a little colour. Spray-on instant-colour fake tans have never been better, or quicker and easier to apply. The sprays from Fake Bake and Model Co have come out tops in my trials at This Morning.
CELEB BEAUTY TIP I’D LIKE TO KNOW: The name of Michelle Pfeiffer’s cosmetic dermatologist. Just how has she managed not to age a single day in the past 20 years?
