The talents of this funny, redhaired starlet are impressive. Remind you of anyone?
Isla Fisher is a million miles from her soap princess days in Summer Bay. Yes, she has a string of rom-coms under her (petite) belt and is the toast of Tinseltown, but could she also be the next Lucille Ball?
The starlet claims her entry into comedy is down to partner and funny man himself, Sacha Baron Cohen, who encouraged her to audition for her breakthrough role in Wedding Crashers. After playing Vince Vaughn’s nymphomaniac girlfriend, she was a big hit in the giggle-friendly chick flick Confessions of a Shopaholic.
Up next, she is voicing a character in Rango, an animation with Johnny Depp due in 2011. Then the kooky redhead plans to write and direct. She’s working on The Cookie Queen, in which she plays an obsessive ex-girl guide, and rock ‘n’ roll comedy, Groupies, co-written by Saturday Night Live’s Amy Poehler. Looks like she really means (funny) business.
